Explosion safety: decompression panels – when they work and when they don’t
Decompression panels are simple, economical and effective blast protection, but they have significant limitations: they are disposable, generate a hazardous discharge, require a protective zone and are not suitable for interiors or toxic materials. In many cases, more advanced solutions – flameless systems, valves or active suppression – will be preferable.
