What Makes OptiLine a Cost-Efficient Choice?
As both manufacturer and system designer, we know what causes installation costs to rise. That’s why the OptiLine was engineered to address these challenges head-on:
1. General and Emergency Lighting in One
OptiLine can serve as both general and emergency lighting—no need for separate systems. Choose between:
- OptiLine CBX/CBY: powered by a central battery
- OptiLine A1: built-in emergency battery
2. Wide Range of Power & Light Output
Available in two lengths (670 mm and 1276 mm) and six power levels (20, 25, 30, 38, 48, 58 W), the OptiLine series offers 18 light output combinations—from 2,900 to over 10,000 lumens—tailored to any industrial need.
3. Three Diffuser Options
Choose from:
- Transparent – for high-output outdoor or large-space use
- Frosted – to reduce glare while maintaining brightness
- Opal – for soft, diffused light in worker-centric areas
This flexibility enables you to adjust brightness and beam quality without changing the fixture.
4. High Durability and IP Protection
Certified to EN IEC 60079-0, the fixture boasts strong impact resistance and an IP66/67 rating, ensuring long-term performance even in harsh environments.
5. Adjustable Light Direction via Lenses
OptiLine allows the use of interchangeable lenses (up to 22 types) to direct light exactly where it’s needed—no custom mounting brackets or awkward fixture angles required.
6. Suitable for High-Bay Use
Special focusing lenses enable OptiLine to be used in high-bay installations, reducing the number of different fixtures required and eliminating the need for lowering mounts—cutting both installation and maintenance costs.
7. Custom Emergency Light Output
Each fixture’s emergency light output can be individually configured. This makes it easy to meet safety standards without costly lighting control systems or height adjustments.
Smart Installation = Lower Costs
8. Flexible Wiring Options – Including 5-Core Cable Bypass
The OptiLine fixture supports the use of up to four M20 or M25 cable glands (two on each side), which gives installers maximum flexibility when designing the wiring layout. One particularly valuable feature is the ability to use standard 5-core cables (3-phase + Neutral + PE).
This allows you to:
- Use one phase from the cable to power the fixture
- Bypass the remaining two phases through the fixture to the next one
- Avoid installing separate junction boxes
This solution, commonly referred to as a bypass installation, reduces the total number of cable runs and significantly lowers the cost of cable trays, power cables, and labor. It’s especially useful in large-scale industrial settings where long cable routes are common and minimizing installation time and complexity is critical.
By supporting this configuration, OptiLine helps you achieve smarter, faster, and more cost-effective installations without compromising safety or flexibility.
9. M25 Gland Compatibility
Use larger cross-section cables to reduce voltage drop and meet demanding emergency lighting standards (e.g., fire-resistant up to 600°C). Greater cable compatibility = more supplier options and better cost control.
10. Tool-Assisted Yet Simple Opening
For ATEX compliance, tools are required to open the fixture—but we’ve simplified it. The hinged diffuser and mounting plate open with a single screwdriver. Captive screws stay attached, and nothing falls out, preventing process contamination or potential ignition sources.
The Real Cost of EX Fixtures for Hazardous Areas
When designing lighting for explosion-hazard zones, the purchase price of EX fixtures is only part of the equation. In many projects, installation labor and materials—such as power cables, trays, and junction boxes—can make up 20–40% of the total investment. Selecting the right ATEX fixture can substantially reduce these installation costs, making a significant difference in your overall budget.
Why Choose OptiLine?
Choose OptiLine to:
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance
- Cut installation and long-term maintenance costs
- Reduce the number of different fixtures needed
- Gain maximum flexibility in design and installation
With a proven track record across demanding industries such as chemical, petrochemical, energy, food processing, and manufacturing, the OptiLine series is more than just a lighting product—it’s an investment in performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
What Are ATEX / IECEx OptiLine Luminaires?
ATEX / IECEx OptiLine luminaires are explosion-proof LED lighting fixtures that meet the strictest global safety standards for use in potentially explosive environments. Designed for both basic and emergency lighting, they combine energy efficiency, durability, and certified safety in one system.
Certified Safety You Can Trust
OptiLine fixtures are certified according to ATEX and IECEx, ensuring compliance with the most demanding international standards.
- Zone 2: Gases, vapors of flammable liquids (Groups IIA, IIB, IIC / Temp classes T1–T4)
- Zones 21 & 22: Dusts (Groups IIIA, IIIB, IIIC / Ignition temp >145°C)
Why the Choice of Explosion-Proof Fixture Matters
Before developing the OptiLine LED series, we spent years designing and installing both general and emergency lighting systems across a wide range of industrial environments, including hazardous zones. This experience—with various manufacturers’ products—revealed how crucial the design of the fixture is in reducing installation time, complexity, and the amount of supporting materials needed.
We learned that the right lighting solution can reduce:
- The number of junction boxes required
- The total cable tray length
- The overall cable volume and complexity
Especially in ATEX installations, where components such as junction boxes and flame-retardant cables are significantly more expensive, thoughtful fixture design can lead to major savings.
